The former President and the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) H.E. John Dramani Mahama yesterday undertook a Visitation Tour to some Muslim Clerics in Ghana to wish them a “Happy Barka da Sallah”.
The former President and his entourage first visited the National Chief Imam at his Fadama residence where the two leaders exchanged hearty pleasantries. The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu seized the opportunity to pray for the NDC Flagbearer, and wished him Allah’s guidance as we enter the 2024 election year.
The second stop was made at Shukura, at the residence of Sheikh Dr. Yahya-Al Amin, the Grand Khalifa of His Eminence, the National Chief Imam of Ghana. It was an occasion of solemn prayer mixed with jubilation from party supporters. The Grand Khalifa also prayed for the success of the NDC Flagbearer and wished him victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
It is worthy of note that both the Chief Imam and Sheikh Yahya-Al Amin gifted the former President some sumptuous “Sallah meat” as a sign of blessing to him and his party.
The next visit was made to Sheikh Abubakar Kamaludeen, the Chief Imam of the Shia Community in Ghana. He also prayed for the former president and wished him well in all his endeavors.
It is important to indicate that the former President H.E. John Mahama had in the previous day joined the Ahlusunna wal Jama in the Eid prayer, where he had a similar interaction with the Sect Imam, Sheikh Hajj Umar Ibrahim.
The former President in all his speeches expressed his appreciation for the hearty reception accorded him by all the Muslim Leaders whom he described as the bastion of protracted peace in Ghana. He also thanked them for their prayers in the recent victory chalked by the party at Assin North.
Among the President’s entourage were the vintage Alhaji Huudu Yahya, Alhaji Mahama Cole Younger(National Zongo Caucus Coordinator), Hon Nasser Toure ( MP for Ayawaso East), Hon Abdul Latif Dan ( MP for Ablekuma Central) Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar(of Masloc), Alhaji Baba Sheriff of Maraba fm, Alhaji Yahya Kundow, Mr Horoya Ali (Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator), Baba Sadiq( PC for Okaikwei central) and Constitiency Executives of the various Constituencies in which these prominent personalities reside.
In conclusion, the visit of H.E. John Mahama, coupled with the reception received from the rank and file, one can conclude without equivocation that, John Mahama is the best bet for the future economic and social emancipation of the people of Ghana. Let’s work hard for victory in 2024. Thank you!
