The Greater Accra New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organizers have declared their unflinching support for the candidature of the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming Presidential Primaries.
“As a group functioning in the interest of the young people of Ghana, we strongly believe that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the finest option for the New Patriotic Party in the forthcoming e look actions. He has demonstrated his proficiency as a competent leader both in the capacity as Vice President and his previous job as an economist and as a banker. His dedication to public service, intelligence and firm commitment to the development of the Republic of Ghana makes him more suitable candidate for the New Patriotic Party as far as breaking the 8 is necessary “.
This was put forward on behalf of the Youth Organizers at a press conference by Mandela Wiafe Edward, the Deputy Greater Accra Youth Organizer today in Accra.
The youth organizers believe that, Dr. Bawumia’s candidature would not only help in breaking the 8 but would also, benefit the youth of Ghana especially, the Greater Accra Youth Wing.
“His efforts in digitizing the economy and improved access to technology demonstrates his understanding of the contemporary challenges facing the young people of today. We are confident that H E Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia will continue to prioritize the need of the youth if elected as flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party and subsequently the President of the Republic of Ghana “.
He reiterated their unflinching support to Vice President Bawumia and urged other party members and Ghanaians to work towards the success story.
“Over the years H. E the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana has demonstrated a high sense commitment, loyalty, inclusion, hard work, integrity, compassion, humility and accessibility”.
Vice President Bawumia, the Deputy Youth Organizer mentioned, has made significant contribution to the development of the NPP saying, he was a key member of government technical negotiating team for HIPC in 2001 under former President John Agyekum Kuffuor, where the team successfully negotiated a four billion dollar relief for Ghana that help in stabilizing the economy.
According to the youth organizers, Dr. Bawumia has contributed materially and financially to activities of the party from the polling stations through the National level.
“In recent times, he paid for the ID card of every delegate including you and I”.
He added that, the Vice President is very visible throughout the country and therefore, can meet the caliber of JDM and still beat him squarely any day and in any event.
“Vice President of the Republic of Ghana is by nature equitable and inclusive, humble and appeals to a wide spectrum of people including the youth, the aged, women, middle class, academia, business owners etc”.
