Agriculture is the solution to Ghana’s economy-Dr. Afriye Akoto

The former Minister for Food and Agriculture and New Patriotic Party (NPP) ,flagbearer hopeful,. Dr. Owusu Afriye Akoto has reinforces his commitment and conviction that Agriculture is the only solution to Ghana’s economy.

He stressed this when a group of sympathizers voluntarily purchased a New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential nomination forms for him to contest the flag bearer position.

Addressing the media, Dr. Owusu Afriye Akoto disclosed that, under his leadership as President of Ghana, adequate resources for agriculture would be key to create employment, wealth, earn more foreign exchange to finance the development of other sector of the economy.

“The only sector which has the capacity to finance the country’s debt is the agriculture sector. It can finance our industrialization, our health our education and more “.

Hon. Owusu Afeyie further disclosed that, most developmental projects across the country had been financed by both internal and external debts, in spite of revenues from oil and gold.

He expressed gratitude to the group for the honor done him, by using their own money to purchase the forms on his behalf and assured not to let them down.
He assured them of good leadership to address the country’s challenges for prosperity to all.

Dr. Akoto commended his campaign team for doing a fantastic job and charged them to raise the game to a new level until the delegates gave him the opportunity to lead the party.

The spokesperson for Dr. Owusu Afriye Akoto, Dr.Prince Amuzu Sodoke and the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Alfred Boye led the group to pick the form after paying GH¢50,000 as nomination fee.
